Wild and Wooly TobbagonIt is Awesome! I want to go again. The rides are cool. My favorite is the Mad Mouse (roller coaster), then the Test Pilot and then the Wild and Wooly Tobbogan (corkscrew). The train ride is really long and awesome. You get to ride way out into an area with llamas, emus, zebras and lots of sheep.

GO THERE TODAY! www.littleamerricka.com

Check out more pictures of our day at this classic amusement park!

This is most definately 5 out of 5 Lava Lamps on The Carl Groovy Scale.

A Note from Mom: This is located just outside of Sun Prairie and is a great value, especially when you buy a full day pass! You can even bring your own food. There are some fun classic rides like the Wild and Wooly Tobaggon, Parachutes, The Mad Mouse Coaster, Tilt-a-Whirl and Scrambler. They are working on the wooden roller coaster. It was a real trip back into my childhood and it was great fun to share it with the kids.

Renewable Energy Fun For Kids, Too!

The Kids June 18th, 2007

We were at the Renewable Energy Fair. There was all kinds of ways that people of all ages can save energy. There was a type of candy that is the seeds of E85. It tasts like bubble gum, but when you fuel with E85 instead of gas, a flex fuel vehicle driver can prevent 4 tons of lifecycle carbon dioxide emission from entering our atmoshere every year. CO2 is a primary pollutant associated with global warming says the American Lung Association of MN. But there was also homade soap that had  no animal fat in them so  that way we can also save the animals. You can’t forget solar panels,  they are the most known way to save energy. What solar panels do is use the sun as a natral way to fuel things. There were also these black tubes that you can let sit in the sun so that way there is anthor way that you can heat your water and save money by useing the sun. There are all kinds of different ways that you can save energy and money and you might even think about geting a car that runs on gas and electricity.  Maybe in the future they will perfect the car that can use solar panels or just the electric car.

On the Greta Greatness Scale the Midwest Renewable Energy Fair rated 4 1\2 out of 5

The Wisconsin Woodchucks Rock!

The Kids May 6th, 2007

The Wisconsin Woodchucks rock! When the play ball it makes you want to scream even if you are cheering for the other team because the game is so good. When you go to there games you end up spending more money then you wanted, to on hats, shirts and food, because the food is sooooooooooooo good and you have to buy a hot dog, some cotton candy and then the ice cream. Then you just become a fan after 1 game and then two years later you’ll find yourself yelling “go for the home run!”.

The Chucks rate a high 5 out 0f 5 stars on the Greta Greatness Scale.

A note from Mom and Dad: Woodchuck games, and any game in the Northwoods League, are really reasonable. The gate admission is family friendly and leaves you plenty to treat everyone to a dog, soda (or beer!) and even some snacks along the way. The Woodchucks rate high on the Mom and Dad scale as well! By the way- for those who have followed the Brewers for awhile- the new Woodchucks Field Manager is none other than Jim Gantner! Welcome to Wausau Gumby!

The Wade House

The Kids April 23rd, 2007

The Wade House

There are several parts to this historic site. Starting at the house itself you’ll the very large white house. It has a large number of rooms, so to get some extra money they would rent out the rooms. In the kitchen they have a special oven. The hearth had an arm that came out on the top to hang pots from so that the the women didn’t burn their dresses. With a regular hearth many times women’s dresses caught fire and they may have even died from burns. The cook that lived there to help cook had a small bed and lived in the pantry. They had a lot of kids so of course they had a larger house then most. But the beds for the parents were the size of a twin bed, so they all slept on small beds.

They also had a place with carriages of many colors. They also had a blacksmith that told us how they used to make all kinds of useful things like horse shoes. Finally, they had a sawmill where they showed us how to cut a log.

The Wade House rates a 4 out of 5 stars on The Greta Greatness Scale.

Summer Fun in The Dells

The Kids April 9th, 2007

Wisconsin Dells Ducks approaching LandWe rode the Dells Ducks. They go in the water and up out the water. The ride is sometimes bumpy, sometimes smooth. You can get kind of wet. We saw a person para-sailing on the river. We went through woods and up and down hills.

We also rode the Upper Dells Boat ride. We saw the dog jump way up high between the rocks. We also got off at Witch’s Gulch, and I bought a toy snake. You have to walk through a long, narrow walk.

We got to go to the Chula Vista Waterpark the weekend it opened. The Lazy River was cool. I kept pushing Mom under all the waterfalls, they squirt a lot of water out. The squirty things on the play area are fun- but be careful when the big bucket dumps, if you try and run from it, it might push you down the stairs. But the lady who put cream on my scratches was very nice.

We also saw Fab 50’s Liveat Chula Vista. It had some hippy stuff and whole bunch of Elvises and pretty girls. It was an Elvis Attack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Dells definitely are 5 out of 5 Lava Lamps on The Carl Groovey Scale.

Chippewa Falls Fun

The Kids April 5th, 2007

While in Chippewa Fallsstop at The Leinie Lodge- get the pretzels with cheese, they are REALLY good! The brewery tour was good because you get to see how it is all done, like the bottle capping.

Cray 1 Super ComputerAlso stop at the Chippewa Falls Museum of Industry and Technology. They have some really old computers, and some that look like furniture even- a couch! You can look at all the wires, which is really cool. There is a pretty cool kid’s area, too., You can look through microscopes to see different kinds of fish and stuff.

There’s a great ice cream shop downtown, Olson’s Ice Cream Parlor & Deli - lots of flavors made fresh every day and very fun decorations- cool lights and paint.

Chippewa Falls rates 4 out of 5 stars on the Greta Greatness scale!

Groovy, Groovy, Super Groovy Madeline Island Museum

The Kids March 21st, 2007

Madeline Island Historical MusuemWe visit the Madeline Island Historical Museum every summer! There is a big, old propeller outside that you can have a picture taken with. Inside it is cool. You need to watch the movie first. I like the movie, especially the song Over To Old La Pointe. Then explore the whole museum. I like to spend a lot of time in the kids’ area, playing fur trader with Mom and Greta.  Check out the gift shop, it is my favorite part.

The Madeline Island State Historical Museum rates 5 out of 5 Lava Lamps on The Carl Groovy Scale.

Pendarvis Rocks

The Kids March 2nd, 2007

If you want a good museum, Pendarvis is the place to be. You see tons of old Cornish homes. They have beautiful scenery with lots of places where they had hidden modern items to keep the look of the history. It originally owned by miner familes, so evey thing has got a smaller look to it and for its time it was a pretty nice home. It had an indoor well and a pretty nice stove and a pretty good size fireplace. So go there to also see a great past restaurant led by Robert Neal and Edgar Hullem . Go there for facts you didn’t know even existed.

On the Greta Greatness Scale Pendarvis rates 4 out of 5 stars.

SplASHLAND

The Kids February 22nd, 2007

AmericInn in Ashland, WI The yellow and the red slide are both fun- I went down both of them lots of times with my Dad (I got a little sore, but it was worth it!) I went down more times than Dad did. I never quit going down them- my Dad went to the hot tub. Before I went to the slides I hopped into the hot tub and I went to the non-slide pool.  I slipped on the way to the water slides- you know why? It was wet- so be careful!

We had pizza from the pool bar one night in our room so we could watch cartoons (Lazlo was being chased by a bear, but he didn’t get eaten)- and use the whirlpool in the room. I was the only one not too tired from the Ice Caves to use the whirlpool! The pizza was delicious.  The whirlpool was awesome.

SplASHLAND in the AmericInn of Ashland gets 3 1/2 out of 5 Lava Lamps on The Carl Groovy Scale
