MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Tourism has unveiled two new travel planning guides, the 2007 Fall and Winter Calendar of Events Guide and the 2007 Fall Sampler. Both are available for free by visiting TravelWisconsin.com, calling the Department of Tourism toll free number (800) 432-TRIP/8747 or stopping at one of the 10 Wisconsin welcome centers.

The 2007 Fall and Winter Calendar of Events Guide marks a break from tradition with a single emphasis on just events. A biannual Wisconsin Activity Guide will be released in mid-December. It is a 40-page, magazine-style publication that outlines the state’s most popular seasonal events from September through March, including festivals, performing arts, museum exhibits and ongoing events and will also be available at the Wisconsin State Fair at the Department of Tourism’s booth in the Wisconsin Products Pavilion.

The Fall Sampler is a 16-page digest that serves as a quick resource for Wisconsin fall color watching and seasonal event information as well as culinary tourism. It features six itineraries written by freelance travel writers. Local food and produce, seasonal events and festivals, dining experiences, food-related attractions and fall color tours are highlighted in Lake Geneva, Greater Milwaukee, Central Wisconsin, Marinette County, Great River Road, and the Hayward/Cable area.
